What exactly is Reprise?

Reprise is a karaoke setlist app for iPhone and Android that turns your scattered song ideas into a repertoire you can actually use. Build your list once, then filter by title, artist, or genre and land on the perfect song in seconds, instead of thumb-scrolling one endless note.

Is Reprise free?

Yes, it's free to start. You get up to 25 songs with scoring, ratings, tags, Tonight's Queue, and Friends, and no account is required. When your list outgrows that, a single one-time purchase unlocks unlimited songs plus export, print, and sharing. No subscriptions, ever.

Does it work without a signal?

Always. Reprise is offline-first, so your songs, scores, and notes live right on your phone and everything keeps working in a basement bar with zero bars. Nothing to sign into, nothing stashed in the cloud.

Does Reprise work for KJs and karaoke hosts?

It can. Reprise isn't a full rotation system for running a whole bar, but if you're the karaoke jockey or the friend keeping your group's night moving, it helps. Line up Tonight's Queue, mark each song as it's sung and rate it, and keep the lists your friends share with you ready in the Friends tab for when it's their turn.

How does it keep my karaoke songs organized?

Score each song, rate how it lands, tag it, and jot private notes, then sort and filter your whole repertoire to build tonight's setlist in a tap. Past genre and decade, songs carry tags for the kind of singing they call for, like Ballad, Big Belt, Grit or Hushed, and occasion tags like Wedding or Christmas, so you can narrow to what fits the moment instead of scrolling. Reprise fills in details like genre and length as you type, so adding songs stays quick.

How does Reprise know what a song calls for?

Two ways, and you stay in charge of both. Thousands of popular songs arrive already tagged, bundled with the app so it works offline with no account and no lookup, and the tagging keeps growing with every update. You can also tag any song yourself, and nothing you add ever gets overwritten: an automatic pass can add tags, but it only removes ones it put there itself. Tags cover the kind of singing a song calls for, like Ballad, Big Belt, Grit, Falsetto or Hushed, along with occasion tags like Wedding or Christmas, so you can narrow your list to what fits the moment.

Can I import my song list, or export and back it up?

Yes, and importing is free. Bring in a list you already keep, from a .txt, .csv, Word (.docx), PDF with real text, or a Reprise .json file; most layouts work, like 'Title - Artist' or one song per line. Export saves a full .json backup that keeps your scores and notes, so you can move to a new phone or restore your list after clearing your browser, plus a share copy that leaves ratings out for handing to a friend, and a clean printable PDF. Because your songs live only on your device with no account, keeping an export backup is a good idea. If your file runs past the free 25-song cap, the first songs fill your library and the rest wait in the background until a purchase unlocks them, so nothing is turned away and you never have to import twice. Export, backup, and printing come with the full version.
